Fifteen-Story Residential Development Planned for the Pearl District

A 15-story residential building is planned in the Pearl District on NW 14th Ave. at Irving St.

Representatives from Simpson Housing of Denver, Colorado will be in Portland next month to discuss their proposal to build a 15-story apartment building in the Pearl District on NW 14th Avenue at Irving Street.

According to Simpson’s Spencer Welton, the proposed project will occupy the parking lot adjacent to the Irving Street Lofts, directly across the street from Lizard Lounge and Nau.

Welton says as many as 213 units will take up much of the building’s 206,000 square feet, with most of the remaining space slated for ground floor retail and at least two floors of subsurface parking.

Most recently, Simpson Housing developed The Matisse, the south waterfront’s Gold LEED-certified apartment building just two blocks from the Willamette River.

The conference is scheduled for the afternoon of December 7 at the offices of the Bureau of Development Services (1900 SW 4th Avenue).

Pre-application conferences are the first formal steps in the long process of bringing projects to fruition, during which applicants, various city bureaus and the BDS discuss overall plans in order to determine and solve potential problems that may arise when considering a project’s details
